In our society today many more older people are feeling acutely isolated, often spending an entire week without speaking to friends, neighbours or family. Many older people continue to live independently within their own homes but are more or less alone and socialise with very few people, without anyone for any kind of support.
The benefits system is very difficult for older people. We provide advice and help with applying for the benefits that are provided to help people in older age. Many people do not apply for these benefits as they do not know they exists or they are to difficult to apply for.
The Domestic Companions Companionship service offers the reassurance of a regular trusted friendly face and support if and when required. Our Companions can provide:-
To provide support and companionship for older people and those convalescing in their own home, enabling a scene of inclusion, security and continued independence.
The sitting service provides the opportunity for family members and friends who are carers of loved ones to take a break. The sitters provide companionship and support and are able to participate in a range of pastimes or just be there for the cared-for person.
Domestic Companions will take the time to match the sitter to the person you care for and, should you wish, when sessions are required on a regular basis will provide continued support from the same member of staff. The sitting service is available seven days a week from 8:00am to 10:00pm and Sessions can be from 2 to 8 hours.
